Rezvan Foundation Mentors
Empower Foster youth to achieve their dreams

Picture
Our mentors provide ongoing 1:1 mentorship to Rezvan Scholars throughout the course of their entire 4-5 year college career.  Mentors are carefully selected based on the shared interests, goals, and desired career paths of our Rezvan Scholars.

If you're interested in becoming a mentor, please read the FAQs and fill out the form below.

Rezvan Foundation Mentorship Program FAQs

How long is the Mentorship commitment?
Because Rezvan Scholars have either spent a significant amount of time in foster care, have suffered the loss of one or more parents, or both, most of our of our awardees have backgrounds devoid of consistent, reliable adult support. And while some of them have been able to create their own sustaining community while still in high school, such bonds tend to naturally dissolve over time once students become immersed in college life.  As such, we request an unfaltering commitment of 4-5 years from Mentors such that they see their Mentees all the way through to college graduation.
What are the logistical requirements?
One-Time/Intermittent:
  1. We ask that you attend the annual Rezvan Foundation Fundraising Gala during your Awardee’s freshman year, as the two of you will be featured/honored guests. Note: your ticket is complimentary.
  2. We ask that you aim to have in-person meetups with your Mentee at least once per year, if possible.
On a Regular Basis:
  1. Weekly Mentor/Mentee check-in call ranging from 5-30 minutes in duration, as well as completion of the Weekly Call Comm Log (a simple Google Forms doc).
  2. Monthly check-in communication with Rezvan Foundation staff as initiated by Program lead Athena Levitch.
  3. Special Circumstance/Concern communication with RF staff whenever you feel it may be necessary. Useful examples include (but are not limited to): concern that the student is struggling mentally, emotionally, psychologically, financially or otherwise to a problematic extent; having the sense that something is “off” with him/her; being made aware that academic performance requirements are not being met; etc.
  4. Your honest feedback to RF staff re: Mentorship Program features: what’s working, what could use improving/tweaking, etc.

We desperately need more leaders who are committed to courageous, wholehearted leadership and who are self-aware enough to lead from their hearts, rather than unevolved leaders who lead from hurt and fear.
